A library without promotion is like a party without guests. A host/hostess can spend weeks planning an agreeable guest list, an interesting theme, an attractive and tasteful menu, and eye-catching decorations. He/she can spend hours cleaning the house and arranging a warm and inviting environment. However, if the party giver forgets to send out invitations, there will be no guests and no party.
A church library can have a beautifully arranged and inviting environment, the most generous budget, and the largest, most extensive collection of books, videos, cassettes, CDs, and DVDs. However, if awareness of the library is not maintained, and people forget to use its resources, it will cease to be a library ministry and could more appropriately be called a museum.
